 NGC 2035,2040    NGC 2035  is an emission nebula in the Large Magellanic Cloud and 2040 to the right is a supernova remnant that appears like a red rose. This overall image spans over 600 light-years within the Large Magellanic Cloud 160,000 light-years away, a satellite galaxy of our Milky Way. This image was taken with a 24″ Planewave telescope in Rio Hurtado Chile. The image is in true color RGB where the red is emission from hydrogen gas and the blue green is emission from oxygen gas.
